Celebrity Coach Trip (series 1)

Celebrity Coach Trip 1 was the first series of Celebrity Coach Trip which was filmed from 6 to 17 September 2010 as is made clear from the reference from the Channel 4 website and began showing on 8 November 2010. This series eventually changed the voting rules from Day 5 to Day 9 where from that day there would be no more yellow cards on the trip until future series, and the couple that received the most amount of votes would be sent home immediately since arrival into Hungary in history and there being, only at a maximum, six couples, instead of the usual seven. The series involved six celebrity couples travelling on a two-week tour. Tour guide Brendan Sheerin, narrator Dave Vitty, coach driver Paul Donald and the MT09 MTT registration all returned for this series, which aired on Channel 4.

Series 1 aired from Monday 8 November to Friday 19 November 2010 at 5:30pm. It was aired with one episode each weekday.

• Ben & Raef, famous for Benjamin Duncan's appearance on Big Brother 11 and Raef Bjayou's appearance on The Apprentice 4. (Joined after lunch on Day 1. Red-carded on Day 5.)
• Bianca & Imogen. Imogen Thomas was a contestant on Big Brother 7 and is a glamour model; Bianca Gascoigne is best known mainly for her ex-footballer stepfather Paul, for glamour modelling and being a TV presenter. (Original 4. Red-carded on Day 6.)
• David & Tony, David Van Day was in the band Dollar in the 1970s and the 1980s and had a long period away from television until his 'comeback', which has principally been in reality shows, from 2003. Tony Blackburn is a radio DJ most recently presenting Pick of the Pops for BBC Radio 2 on Saturday afternoons. (Joined after lunch on Day 6 Replacing Ben & Raef. Red-carded on Day 7.)
• Rodney & Cheryl, Rodney Marsh is an ex-footballer who last played for England in 1973, and subsequently a commentator largely for Sky Sports where he worked for eleven years. He has tried to resurrect his media career with appearances on I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here and Come Dine With Me. Former singer, with Bucks Fizz and Eurovision winner of 1981, Cheryl Baker (Rita Maria Crudgington) had a second career as a children's TV presenter and latterly as a stage director. (Joined after lunch on Day 7 Replacing Bianca & Imogen. Red-carded on Day 8.)
• Colin & Justin, presenters of programmes related to interior decoration and property, most recently making appearances on ITV show 60 Minute Makeover. (Joined on Day 6 Also replacing Bianca & Imogen. Red-carded on Day 9.)
• Ricky & Alex, ex-actors from BBC TV series EastEnders. (Original 4. Lasted until Final Day.)
• Carol & Ingrid, Carol Harrison is known as an actress from 'Brush Strokes' and 'East Enders', Ingrid Walsh mainly for her acrimonious 2006 divorce from TV and radio presenter Chris Tarrant. (Original 4. Lasted until Final Day.)
• Paul & Barry, famous for their roles on childrens' TV series ChuckleVision. (Original 4. Winners.)
• Monica & Gabriela, Monica and Gabriela Irima are sisters famous for singing together between 2002 and 2004 as The Cheeky Girls. (Joined on Day 9 Replacing Rodney & Cheryl. Lasted until Final Day.)

• ^1 On Day 5, due to the spreading of the yellow cards tactic that the group used, Brendan reinstated the same voting rule as on Day 24 of Coach Trip Series 3 when the red terror was announced - on vote time the couple who received the most votes would get an immediate red card, this happened to be Ben & Raef, this system stayed till the end of the series.

Arrival Day and Day 1 of the trip - Prague

The trip gets straight on with the fun in Prague. First up was a lesson at the Czech National Ballet. Later they went for a hair-raising ride in old Soviet tanks. Two new arrivals joined the coach after lunch in the shape of Big Brother 11 entrant Ben Duncan and ex-Apprentice contestant Raef Bjayou. The 'posh' boys made an instant impression but at the end of the day they received the first yellow card with three votes despite that they were new to the group.

Day 2 - Pilzen

The coach leaves Prague for Pilzen in the west of the Czech Republic. A surprised Brendan finds himself naked in a beer bath with Ingrid Tarrant and Barry Chuckle. Also Ricky Groves and Alex Ferns display a lot more of themselves than Bianca Gascoigne and Imogen Thomas bargained for, which causes some tension at the vote, though at the vote Ricky & Alex received two votes and Bianca & Imogen received three votes, meaning Bianca & Imogen received the second yellow card of the series.

Day 3 - Regensburg

The celebs visit Regensburg, Germany, home to the oldest sausage kitchen in the world. The group had a go at making sausages, which Alex really couldn't stomach, but Ricky showed his skills as an-ex professional chef and cooked everyone lunch. The afternoon was spent on a cruise on the river, but Brendan's attempts to educate the group about local culture were scuppered by the presence of a keg of beer. At the end of the day Ricky & Alex received their first yellow card.

Day 4 - Passau

The group enjoy a tour of the cathedral, home to Europe's largest organ, followed by an accordion lesson. Later they enjoy a canoeing trip down the Danube, although Ben and Raef head off in their own direction... much to Brendan's annoyance. At the end of the day Ricky & Alex received two votes but Paul & Barry received three votes meaning they received their first yellow card.

Day 5 - Linz

In Linz, Austria, an experiment at The Museum of the Future failed to discover any activity in Ben Duncan's brain. The celebs also attempted to walk on water in specially made AquaSpheres, but ended up looking like human hamsters. The celebs continued to plan to spread out the yellow cards, but Brendan drops a bombshell on them since day 24 of series 3 when the red terror was announced by announcing that from now on there will be an instant red card for whoever gets the most votes. Due to there being an automatic red card it comes to a draw between Ricky & Alex and Ben & Raef, the couples eventually decide to give the red card to Ben & Raef, making them the first couple to be voted off the trip.

Day 6 - Salzburg

Interior designers Colin & Justin joined the party, as well as 80s pop sensation David Van Day and his and everyone's favourite DJ Tony Blackburn. At the end of the day vote with the two new couples being immune from any votes, Bianca & Imogen received a red card with 3 votes.

Day 7 - Innsbruck Part 1

It was a day of mountain fun as the group headed to the Austrian Alpine resort of Innsbruck where they fed the animals at Europe's highest zoo. Later they came hurtling back down the mountain at a summer bobsleigh track. They were joined by another pair of new tourists, the football legend Rodney Marsh, and ex-Bucks Fizzer Cheryl Baker. And sparks flew when Cheryl came face to face with her arch-rival David Van Day, which made for a very entertaining vote. At the vote with Rodney & Cheryl being immune from any votes, David & Tony received the red card with a vote from every other couple. After the vote the Coach from the UK broke down which left Paul Donald stranded on the road to nowhere which made matters worse.

With the coach still out of action the tour party was late leaving for Trento in Italy. At the vote Rodney & Cheryl received the red card with a vote from every couple.

Day 9 (Day IX) - Verona

In Verona the group visited Juliet's famous balcony, with the afternoon spent having an opera lesson in the city's magnificent Roman amphitheatre, and Transylvanian pop sensation The Cheeky Girls joined the party (along with their manager Ray who kept an eye on them for their mother). At the vote Colin & Justin received the red card with 3 votes against them.

Day 10 (Day X) - Venice/The Last Day

It was the final day of the special celebrity tour and what better place to finish than beautiful Venice. The group enjoyed a creative morning making Venetian masks before Brendan causesed a stir getting mobbed by fans in St Mark's Square. The last afternoon was spent relaxing in gondolas before the final and decisive vote took place. At the vote Monica & Gabriella came out tied in third place with Carol & Ingrid, meaning both couples received 0 votes, then Ricky & Alex were the runners-up and Paul & Barry won the celebrity tour with a vote from every other couple. Finally, Brendan bids farewell to the celebrity coach trippers and Paul before walking off into the airport terminal.
